So who is Deana Jak?

Well, it is an acronym. Each letter stands for the first letter of our names. The “Deana” represents all the boys: Doug, Ethan, Austin, Nigel and Andre. The “Jak” represents all the girls: Jenny, Aleesha & Kaia. Since we are all involved in the farm, it was important that all were included in all facets of this business.

Our children are an integral part of our operation. At the shows, all of the children have their part and they take great pride in showing. They do all of the showing for Deana Jak because they know their cattle so well.

The eldest boys, Austin and Andre, take the responsibility for the show cattle. They take great pride in working with the calves at the earliest stages of halter breaking. They are both PA Beef BQA certified. Aleesha enjoys her part as the vice president in the PA Jr. Hereford Association and represents Pennsylvania as the Hereford princess. Nigel and Ethan do the relief feeding when they are left in charge of the job, and they help with washing of the show cattle. Kaia is excited to participate in anything to do with the cattle, and is quick to hold a halter when an extra hand is need.
